One way to clear stones is to print the symbol you see under this text, and place your stones on the symbol over night.
If you are in love with your stone and do not want to part with it at night you can wear it 6 days a week and put it on the symbol for 24 hours on the 7th day, so to reset once a week!
This symbol is an ancient tibetan symbol named Antahkarana, and the effect it has is to clear the memories of the stone, and recharge it.
Another way to reset your stones, is to put them in a bowl with natural sea salt. When the stone is ready, throw the salt away.
Some people like to use salted water, but some stones get damaged or destroyed from salt water (for example, a form of calcite called the rose of the dessert, porous stones and stones that react chemically), so it is safer for your stones if you avoid salt water.
Also if your stone is incorporated in an item of jewellery, you are likely to damage the item if you place it in salt water.
Some stones are sensitive to salt as well, stones like malachite, or stones that have cracks where the salt or water can enter, can be damaged.

Placing your stones in a river will reset them.
Second level reiki practitioners can reset stones energetically.
Finally, you can also leave them out, one day before the full moon, the day of the full moon and one day after, in the light of the sun and of the moon. This practice will allow the stones to be exposed to the three moon phases, with the moonlight resetting the stone and the sun light recharging them.
